Men's Basketball National Championship
The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team claimed their fourth NCAA National Championship, defeating North Carolina 72-69 after another significant comeback in the title game.

The Kansas Jayhawks women's track and field team won their first-ever NCAA Outdoor National Championship, marking a historic achievement for the program.
Men's Basketball National Championship
Coached by Bill Self, the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team won their third NCAA National Championship, coming back from a large deficit to defeat Memphis 75-68 in overtime.
Men's Basketball National Championship
Under coach Larry Brown, the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team secured their second NCAA National Championship, defeating Oklahoma 83-79 in an all-Big Eight final.
Wilt Chamberlain plays for KU
Wilt Chamberlain, one of basketball's all-time greatest players, played for the Jayhawks from 1956-1958. He led KU to the NCAA championship game in 1957, where they lost in triple overtime to North Carolina.
Men's Basketball National Championship
The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team won its first NCAA National Championship under legendary coach Phog Allen, defeating St. John's 80-63.
Phog Allen becomes head coach
Forrest 'Phog' Allen, a student of Naismith, took over as head coach in 1907 (after a brief stint in 1905-07) and coached for 39 seasons, becoming one of the most influential figures in basketball history. He led KU to its first national championship game in 1940 and won the NCAA title in 1952.
Dr. James Naismith coaches at KU
Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, became the first basketball coach at the University of Kansas, serving from 1898 to 1907. He is the only KU coach with a losing record, but his legacy laid the foundation for one of college basketball's most storied programs.
