The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team claimed their fourth NCAA National Championship, defeating North Carolina 72-69 after another significant comeback in the title game.
The Kansas Jayhawks women's track and field team won their first-ever NCAA Outdoor National Championship, marking a historic achievement for the program.
Coached by Bill Self, the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team won their third NCAA National Championship, coming back from a large deficit to defeat Memphis 75-68 in overtime.
Under coach Larry Brown, the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team secured their second NCAA National Championship, defeating Oklahoma 83-79 in an all-Big Eight final.

Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, became the first basketball coach at the University of Kansas, serving from 1898 to 1907. He is the only KU coach with a losing record, but his legacy laid the foundation for one of college basketball's most storied programs.
